Membership

A social worker above the age of eighteen and who is willing to act according to the bye-law can be given membership. Employees of the state council and the District council are not eligible for membership.

The memberships shall be as follows

(a) Life Membership

A person will get life membership if he pays Rs.500/- as membership fee, and the standing committee approves him as life Member.

(b) Honorary Members

The Social workers, who are given membership by the standing committee for a period of three years or for a specified period of less than this. They have no voting right. They need not remit membership fee.

(c) Representative Members

Two members who are nominated by the District council for a period of three years or less. One of these members shall be the secretary of the District Council. They are not required to remit the membership fee.

(d) Corporate Members

The Standing Committee may from time to time give corporate membership to institutions, trusts or foundations, associations or any organized bodies which are functioning state wide and are involved or interested in Child welfare activities subject to payment of Rs.500/- as annual subscription. These members are entitled to sent one representative to the General Body

(e) Institutional Members

Subject to the decision of the standing committee, Trusts,
Foundations, Associations, Public enterprises, Other organized bodies also get membership on payment of an annual subscription of Rs.500/-. Such Institutions are eligible to nominate one representative to the general body.

(f) Ordinary Members

Subject to the approval of the standing committee a person can get membership for a term of one year on payment of an annual subscription of Rs. 100 / -. This membership could be renewed at the end of every year by subscribing a fee of Rs.100/-. These members have no voting rights.


(g) Nominated Members

The Standing Committee may nominate five persons from among social workers who are working in the field of Child Welfare for a maximum period of three years or lesser duration. These members have no voting right and they need not remit the membership fee

(h) Ex-officio Members

(1) Secretary to Govt-in-charge of social welfare.

(2) Director of Public Instructions

(3) Director of Health Services

(4) Director of Social welfare

(i) Application for membership as life member, honorary member, representative member, corporate member, institutional member, ordinary member and nominated member shall be submitted in From No.I. appended to this bye-law. Application duly filled in may be sent to the General Secretary after remitting the prescribed fee.

The standing committee shall have the right to reject any application for membership after recording the reasons thereof.

Cessation of Membership

Membership ceases to exist due to the following reasons.

(1) Failure to remit subscription fee

(2) Resignation in writing

(3) Acts against the provisions of the Bye-law, or involvement in cases of corruption and moral turptitude wherein they are found to be guilty,
